Homeless in Iowa

Life begins at 59...or better said, life begins when you are suddenly, unprecedentedly and shockingly thrown into that fearful unknown place of HOMELESSNESS in IOWA.

Three days before my birthday, THE GIFT arrived. So....without cash, savings, credit or job, out the door I went. Straight to the first of the school year meditation class at Allee Chapel on the Cornell College Campus in Mount Vernon Iowa. The class is lead by meditative expert Catherine Quehl-Engel ...thank God!

As a first arrival...Catherine noticed my 'distressed' aura and came over to give me a hug....and I immediately broke down in sobbing tear filled cries of painful home separation. I recovered shortly and proceeded in the first of the year mediation with nineteen students and professors into the depths of sweet sweet bliss.
